A very rare Chinese export silk velvet wall hanging, the centre with a medallion of two mythical beasts, surrounded by scrolling peonies on a wine-red velvet ground, the deep border with further peonies and birds on a deep maroon velvet ground, embroidered with coloured silks and metal threads.
