An unusual pair of Chinese export porcelain tureens and covers brightly enamelled in famille rose with peonies and flowers, of oval form with lion mask handles and large and elaborate coronal knops.
These knops are a form that originated in Meissen porcelain, which they copy closely, though the lion mask handles are a Chinese design. The enamelling is bright of good quality.
